Having a friend or family member officiate your wedding can make your ceremony even more personal. They know you. They love you. And there’s something incredibly meaningful about having someone who is already part of your story standing beside you as you get married.
But loving you doesn’t necessarily mean they know how to write and deliver a great wedding ceremony. That’s where I come in.
I bring the same ceremony design process I use with couples whose weddings I personally officiate — but instead of standing up there with you on the wedding day, I prepare someone you love to do it beautifully.
How It Works
1. We Design Your Ceremony
We’ll begin with my usual discovery process, including a thoughtful questionnaire that helps me understand your relationship, your personalities, and what you want your ceremony to feel like.
From there, we’ll create a ceremony that feels unmistakably like you — from the overall structure and tone to your vows, readings, rituals, love story, guest participation, and all the little details that make a ceremony meaningful.
2. I Prepare Your Officiant
Once we’ve shaped the ceremony, I’ll meet privately with your chosen officiant for an hour-long training session.
We’ll walk through the ceremony together from beginning to end so they understand not only what they’re saying, but how to deliver it.
We’ll cover pacing, public speaking, ceremony logistics, vows and rings, getting properly ordained, legal considerations, and all those tiny details you don’t realize an officiant needs to know until suddenly you’re the officiant.
By the end, they’ll know exactly what they’re doing — and feel ready to enjoy it.
3. They Get to Be the One Standing Beside You
You get the best of both worlds: a thoughtfully designed, professionally supported ceremony and the experience of being married by someone who matters deeply to you.
Pricing
My Friend & Family Officiant option follows the same ceremony packages and pricing as my traditional officiating services, minus the travel fee.
Instead of my officiating your ceremony on the wedding day, your package includes a private one-hour preparation and training session with your chosen officiant.
You’ll still receive the same thoughtful ceremony design process, resources, and support included in the package you choose.
